Hydraulic pump gasket material?

I have this unknown make hydraulic pump on an old Dozer. I had to take it apart for cleaning. I’m getting ready to assemble it but I need to make some gaskets. The ones that were on it were .004 thousandths thick. I imagine they are also used for setting up and establishing gear-to-case clearances?

What kind of gasket material can I use? From what I’ve read these are a pretty low pressure pump about 900 psi. The gaskets that were on there kinda remind me of vegetable paper.

Are these gaskets between the gear case and end covers?

Not sure if possible but could you cut brass shim stock to this shape?

Yes they are between each case and end covers. I found some plant based fiber sheet that is .006” thick, Good for 2,000 psi and 250 degrees that I’m going to try.

sounds like a plan. If this pump is like some of the old Vickers vane pumps they are very sensitive to the tie bolt torque. May want to torque these up in slow steps and confirm the shaft still spins each time. Tap the gear case with a rubber mallet if tight to see if that loosens them up also.
