Damn, I hate it when I'm just getting into the flow of you guys diagnosing a problem and boom!-OP drops out a sight. As bad as reading a novel and finding someone's ripped out the final 10 pages...

The key is the man's fourth post. "Tractor sat for unknown number of years" After all that round and round, back and forth, he finally figured out there was no oil in the tank. He corrected that, the hydraulics worked, he moved on. Case closed.
