2004 Kubota L5030
I installed a LA853 front loader on my L5030HSTC tractor. My problem is when I go to lower the bucket by pushing lightly on the joystick the bucket goes UP! If I push the joystick HARD it will go down but not at the speed I might need depending on job I'm doing. And by having to push hard on the joystick I get a big bounce/jerk which shakes the tractor. Any ideas out there?

Hoses reversed? Pushing lever hard puts valve in float, so gravity will take it down. Try switching the quick- connect hoses at the valve.

And when you pull back on the joystick the loader arms do what ?

I think you have some back pressure.

Might look at the 3pt lever to see if it is in neutral.

Check all the QD's

Check for correct hoseconnection

Should have put this info in my post. When I connect the QD's by color, white to white, red to red etc. when I pull back on the joystick or push forward the bucket will dump and roll. When I move the joystick left or right the boom goes up and down. After switching the QD's around everything works correct except for the down problem.

Need more information. Was this a reinstall which now malfunctions but previously was just fine. Or, is this an absolutely new install of loader for this tractor?
I'm betting you have some hoses improperly connected, but hard to tell which one. Best idea would be to get the shop manual for the equipment and make sure you have properly installed

This is a new install for the loader, but I'm using the Kubota joystick and hydraulic block that came with my Kubota snow-blower that was installed by my dealer when I bought the tractor in 2004. I just got a Workshop manual for the loader so I will look at that.

Just to be clear the following description is how the joystick lever should work:
If you pull straight back on the joystick lever the lift arms should go up.

If you push forward on the lever the lift arms should go down under hydraulic pressure. And if you push past past the detent the lift arms should fall rapidly.
This is the float position of the lift arms. In this position the lift arms will follow the ground terrain if you place the tractor in revers and skid the bucket on the ground. They will go up and down and the only down force in this float position is just the weight of the lift arms and bucket itself, the arms are free to float up.

If you pull the joystick lever to the left the bucket will curl up so that materiel in the bucket will be retained.

If you push the joystick lever to the right the bucket will dump so that material in the bucket will fall out.
If you push the joystick lever FURTHER to the right you will feel extra spring tension and the bucket will go into regeneration mode. This is a fast dump of the bucket. I won't go into details on how this works, but it will be noticeably faster dump then just the normal dump position.

If you valve and hose hookup does not work this way, then you have something hooked up incorrectly or you valve is broken etc.

If you
