Hydraulic Oil TC 35

2001 TC 35 does not have the hydrostatic transmission, it is the synchronized 12 x12. I have no dealer near me, the manual calls for NH 134D, is there something else that can be used?

Hi Steve,

Like my TC33D and your TC35 they are no longer under warranty so using something other than OEM is not a huge concern. There are a number of compatible hydraulic fluids out on the market.

Its my understanding that unlike engine oils, there are no certification test which hydraulic fluids are required to meet. We are relining upon the manufacture of the fluid to ensure they know what the specifications are for the fluids they are claiming their fluid meets that they list on the container.

Many tractor owners have used a fluid which was not sold by their manufacture.

The only thing that I would suggest, depending on your use of the tractor, is that in cold regions, you might be better off spending the extra bucks on a synthetic type, which, in my experience, performs better in the cold weather than the regular. Otherwise, it probably doesn't matter much. Can't even buy the NH 134 stuff around here anymore.
