If I wanted to use a hydraulic motor to power a string trimmer on a boom,
What size motor would I need? Please list any other specifications that
the motor would need to meet. Thank you.

GPM into a hyd motor determines the speed.

How fast do you want the trimmer to run?

Are you thinking direct drive or belt and pulley?

Are you using .155 in line?

10 GPM, 1.0 cuin hyd motor = 2,310 rpm

5------, 1.0 cuin ------------ = 1,155 rpm

10 ------.5 cuin ----------- = 4,620 rpm

5-------.5 cuin ----------- =2,310 rpm

What speed (RPM) do you want to operate at?

What torque is required?

What is your operating pressure?

This information will help select the type and size of motor you require.

For a string trimmer I would suspect that a gear motor would be the most common choice since they are inexpensive and operate at higher RPM's.
