I have a wood splitter that I built and I mounted it on top of a pickup rearend. I have a Kohler 14 hp. engine with a 16 gallon per minute pump. Is there a pump that will turn slow enough that I could mount it on the rear end punkin and use it to move the splitter around with? Thought it might be a conversation piece. Anybody got a clue?

I'm sure you can find a motor (I think that is what you meant instead of "pump") with about any RPM you want...

Personally I would maybe look into a mechanical approach rather than hydraulic just to keep things simple....i.e., add a pulley to the engine/pump shaft and get power there to drive the wheels...

Oh yeah...you need to post some pics or some here are going to have some doubt...!

You are right. I did mean motor. As for pics, the thing is laying all over the shop yet. Havent had time to finish yet.

Since this is a log splitter I presume the pump is a 2 - stage Hi-Lo style pump. If this is true then you would have to look into what pressure does the pump switch from hi to low flow and try and determine if you would have enough torque with the low pressure to move the splitter. Concern is if the pump runs at full flow you have 16 GPM at estimated 800 PSI. When pump shifts you would 5 - 6 GPM available at higher pressure so motor would turn slower with higher torque.
