Hydraulic Magnets Deere 110TLB

Hey guys - this was briefly addressed in another thread, but I want to make sure. I'm changing the hydraulic fluid in our 110. The manual shows a magnet(s) in the hydraulic sump filter, but I didn't find one in ours.

The other thread said they didn't find one either?as anyone found these in their 110? They seem like a good idea.

I know this is not quite what you meant, but I typically install magnets to the outside end of filters. It may not do much, but it's cheap piece of mind for me, that can not hurt anything.

Thanks everyone - I changed the hydraulic fluid without magnets.

Not sure if it would work to put magnets outside the hydraulic filters...they are on the bottom of the tractor and point down. I think magnets there would be knocked off pretty quickly.

I don't see how they would be knocked off, the skid plate should eliminate that problem.

my two cents: If you are able to knock off strong magnets from the filters you are in need of the skip plate.

Rip the magnets out of a discarded computer hard drive, and they shouldn't get knocked off..
I remove the hard drives and destroy them when I send the old computer down the road.
They are very powerful.

And appreciate the thought, as I think it is now a good idea.
