My fortune with hydraulics has not been good lately. Do you think I'm asking too much? Today I drove 50 miles round trip to pick up a rebuilt cylinder and when I installed it on my box scraper, the 10" stroke was maybe a half an inch. Does anyone know what would cause this? When I call the repair shop on Monday I'm sure they'll ask me to bring it back for testing. Ah, boy. I'm hoping there is some purging or priming solution.

Unhook the lines and re-seat them, the try to cycle lock-to-lock to purge the air...

What position is the re-seat position -closed/retracted?

I meant to unplug the lines and plug them back together, I assume you have quick disconnect coupler's on them? Sometimes they do not go together properly and you will have trouble like you described.

When you operated the lever, did the engine bog down?

Right, right and thank you. Before breakfast I went out followed your simple instructions and all's well. When my wife asked about the tractor I told her a guy from Maryland fixed it.

Fantastic JMF, I glad it was a simple fix and saved you a trip!

Yeah, and Kennyd doesn't give you "that look" the counter guy gives when you drive 50 miles to have a defective part repaired that wasn't defective at all!
