Thanks for all of the great information and I think I might try some of that spiral wrap protection.

With 4 hydraulic hoses nested in this bracket (Quick Hitch & Dozer Blade) it's pretty tight fit, but if I have to I'll fabricate a better bracket than MF did.

Also, I did not know how much chaffing these hydraulic hoses could take before they really need replacing, as this one has the black outer surface missing and showing a little off white in the center of the chaffing, thanks for the information, thanks.

I've had, and continue to have, as similar issue with hydraulic hoses on my Branson backhoe. Today the bucket stopped curling, and I knew immediately that I had a hydraulic hose failure somewhere. The routing of the houses through the hoe makes this all but inevitable. I've split old fire hose, which is heavy rubber surrounded by a fabric cover, wrapped it around the chaffing points, and used zip ties to hold it in. It works, but only for a time. And of course, hoses no be cheap. And in this case, they aren't too easy to route, either. I'll pull the latest failed house out tomorrow morning and take it in to be duplicated, but it would be nice to find a real solution to the problem.

I'm guessing that your Branson dealer did not have a solutions for you.

Maybe you could take a few pictures of your backhoe hydraulic hoses and post them (or maybe start a new thread) here and I am sure you would have quite a few trying to help you with your problem.

Good luck,

KC

I use a combination of electrical tape wrapped around the parts that rub and loose zip ties to keep them from moving to much. I think the hoses need to be able to move and freely expand contract as needed. So far so good....
