hydraulic line leak

I have a small leak( 1drop every 3 to 5 sec's) on a brazed joint on the line between the discharge of my gear pump and the external connection box. Without taking it apart and reflowing the joint does any one now of any magic tricks? seal all or liquid metal etc. that might work?

It has been my experience that nothing that you can apply externally will fix a hydraulic leak, especially on the discharge side. I'm a big believer in JB weld for a lot of things, but I'm afraid in this case the only true fix will be remove it and rebraze, silver solder (maybe), or replace.

Thanks Dave I think I may try the JB Weld first, if it does not work reflowing the brazed joint won't be that big a deal. The bigger pain will be draining the tranny and refilling w/ 3+ gallons of new fluid. Not to mention flushing the line prior to heating

If you are going to try JB weld, you must use a good degreaser and make sure that you have no residue. Denatured alcohol will work.

If you have any oil left on the area, then you have the probablity that the JB weld won't stick well.

I have used the stuff to seal up an oil gallery plug that went missing on a '73 Opel manta head. It lasted for many years, untill the car was totaled.

karmacanick's advice may take a little longer but be the easiest in the long term.
Consider what is required if the unit is back in the woods when the line fails completly.
