Hydraulic leak - need help identifying

Good day people,

I have a weepy hydraulic leak coming from under the seat of the Satoh 650G. In the picture it's the shaft that the blue arrow is pointing to.

What does this shaft do? lol
And has anyone experienced trying to replace this seal?

You might try posting this in the Mitsubishi / Satoh forum. There are members on that sight that could probably answer your question but may not look at the hydraulic section.

The manuals pictures are pretty dark and hard to decipher at times. But a good resource.

My bad you are in the correct forum. I looked at thread title and saw hydraulic vs looking at forum title.

it looks like an oil level sight glass. I gotta get in there and clean the dirt off.

Anyone know how to seal it?

Most oil sight glasses are i Japan motorcycles. There are several vids out there to review as there are a few different types.
