Is there any oil you can substitute for Hyd. jack oil or is it use specific?

Not saying it's correct but I use either regular hyd oil in my case AW-32 or ATF and have been now for decades with no problem, your mileage may vary.......m

That's a thought. I know there has to be anti foaming agent in it but looking at $$ for the jack oil is pricey especially when I'm not sure the amount I'll need.

Jack oil is usually very thin so that it can be drawn into the pump especially in cooler weather.

Low-vis hyd oil sold for elec plow pumps works great too, sold in quarts in auto parts stores
