Hydraulic Hose Replacements

I blew a hose on my LA302 loader. Where do you guys generally get replacement hoses? My dealer is not that close - so I am just wondering if there are other sources than the kubota dealer.

Also, this might be a dumb question, but is it worth it to replace all the hoses at the same time? Are they likely to start going one at a time which will be a constant hassle? The loader is 2.5 years old and I only have about 120 hours on my tractor. There are no signs of external damage to the hose that would have caused this but I am in the woods a lot and it would not surprise me if a stick or two has poked my hoses over the past two years. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thanks for the help.

We have a local hardware store that makes most sizes while you wait. Some equipment rental places custom make hoses.
look under hoses or hydralic hoses in yellow pages. Tractor suppy stores , although you'll probly need on custom made.
If the others look good i'd leave them alone no need to replace.

Quite often a local NAPA store will make hoses, just take your old one with you.

Local Kubota dealer sent me over to a hydraulic/auto parts store which made up a new hose while I waited. Just take your old one so they can measure and get the correct ends.

They stated that Kubota used "standard" type fittings and they always had them in stock. They also told me that I would probably be back in a couple days getting another one because "once you replace one, it seems that the others begin to fail".

That has been about six months ago and so far, no other failures. It probably depends on whether they are failing from age or from some other damage like you mentioned.

Check you phone book for a local Parker Store, or the closest hydraulic distributor. I have a Parker store about 10 miles away. They make up hoses for my Kubota (as they blow) in about 5 minutes and cost is usually around $ 25.

My local Napa does hyd hoses, I would replace busted hoses as they blow. The B7500 I had blew two hoses within the first year of ownership...always at the crimp.
I quit blowing hoses after I got a BH for it and didn't blow another hose for the next 2.5yrs.
Oh yea always wear some kind of saftey glases when operating your tractor, hot hyd fluid in the eye would not be pleasant, it will shoot fluid that far..I know /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

While we are on the subject I have a dumb question,,,is there pressure on the hydro lines all the time or just when they are being used? What about getting air in the lines after changing them?

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but there is pressure when you are running the tractor but not using the implement. There is more presure when you activate the cylinder with the control. There is presure too when tractor is off minumal though. after you change hose just operate the cylinder hose was connected too full range few times to bleed air.

Most parts of the hydraulic circuit have minimal pressure when you are not using an implement. The pump flow is circulated at low pressure back to the reservoir (gearbox) through the control valve.. When a lever is pushed, the pressure rises to the level needed to do the work. Lines that are on cylinders, like on the FEL, may have pressure on them at all times if there is a load on the bucket, like material in the bucket. The pressure will be a function of the weight on the cylinder (called load induced pressure).

Anytime a hyd hose is replaced shut tractor off with all implements resting on the ground then move joystick in all directions to bleed off any pressure in cylinders and lines.
This way there will not be any pressure just what fluid is in the line.
