Steiner 430 Max
Hi,

I have a well used Steiner 430 Max that has blown the rear drive hose off the swagged coupler twice in the past few months.
Both were made by Napa.

I'm wondering if this could be explained by a failing pressure relief valve somewhere in the circuit?
Any other theories?

maybe an over pressure.... do they have a loan a tool program they maybe can lend you one. My local store does.

otherwise since NAPA custom made same hose twice maybe the guy making the hose is not up to snuff.

If you cann't get a pressure gauge maybe should try a pre-made hose??

Hi,

Not sure about the loan program, I live high in the mountains, just getting there is a chore. I wouldn't mind investing in one...
What pressure range would I want?
Would I just plumb it in at the coupling point?

gauge plumbs in-line. super easy to do. not sure about your pressure as not sure what pump/engine your machine has but your owners manual/WSM or maybe internet should tell you what pump pressure should be. My guess is pressure relief spring OR bad hose maker and would bet bad hose maker as the guys at my local part shop try really hard but often just a local kid making the work.

Guess I should order one from a Steiner dealer as my first step. I could have is sent UPS and avoid some hassle.
If that one blows I know (???) I have a pressure problem.
