Hydraulic Fluid Restriction

I would like to slowdown the loader ram cylinders in certain situations. Is there a practical fixture available for this purpose that can be used when there is a need, some like a needle valve?
The purpose of the ram slowdown would be to get a more accurate control of a bucket attachment I made for a limb trimmer. The attachment consist of a 9ft pipe with a trim saw at the end.

I am not aware of any valve you can put in the line. I just go lighter on the control and or reduce rpm for fine control.

A needle valve will control the flow.

It depends on whether you want fast action both ways or slow in one direction.

You might want slow cutting and fast retract.

The one valve will provide slow in both directions or fast in both directions. You adjust for the speed you want.

Just to be clear J.J., if I would use a dual direction valve, would I use just one needle valve on one of the control valve pressure ports?

Yes, that is correct.

I would use the valve in the Meter-out circuit.

Install the flow valve at the valve extend work port.

This will give you a control flow to the extend on the cyl and retract if you the controlled flow both directions.

You might want the other valve if you want slow extend and fast retract.
