Hydraulic Fluid for Backhoe attachment on Mt 125

Hi,

I was cleaning out a trench and my backhoe hit the side of a tree and tweaked the hydraulic line. I've lost a lot of fluid so I need to replace the hose and I wanted to change the hydraulic fluid. There are no LS dealers close to me. I went into TSC and they sell Travelers Premium hydraulic oil. It gets excellent reviews but after doing some research I saw a few posts of guys who had it analyzed and the antiwear additives is not great.

I'm wondering if I am over thinking this or should I just use the travelers or look for a synthetic fluid like Lucas makes. Any suggestions or insights would be helpful. Now I just have to find the drain plug.

I had this debate a month ago after an inadvertent fluid change during the 50 hr service. The specs aren't very helpful, as it just says it must be ISO 48/64.

I ended up using John's Deere Hygard, which has very good reviews, and meets the standard. It's not the cheapest, though I see no reason to be penny wise and pound foolish, when it comes to fluids, and save $10-20 while risking a $20,000+ machine.

If it's the factory LS BH, there is no separate tank. It runs off the main hydraulic system. If you lost fluid, your transmission is now low.

I used the Travellers, but I'm wondering about changing to Mobil 424.

I was thinking of using Rotella HD Tractor Hydraulic & Transmission Fluid from Tractor Supply. It is GL-4 rated as recommended in the LS manual, but no mention of the ISO rating (Manual has ISO VG 32/46 listed). Opinions on the Rotella HD Tractor Hydraulic & Transmission Fluid?
