Has anyone removed the detents from your hydraulic remote valves? How did you do it? Was operation affected?

It's been done. I believe there was a recent thread here about it on a CK or possibly a DK series. It will not affect function except that it will make it necessary to hold the lever to choose flow or no flow from the remote.

The dealer did mine, he returned them to me in a bag. He was very cautious about warning me about the dangers. As I did not have a need to run a motor or splitter, I let him take them out. But I don't know how involved it was.

They're Youtube videos showing how it's done on a DK-40. It requires removing the seat and metal plate it attaches to, then removing the bolthead in the valve which holds 3-4 detent balls and a spring. Then reassembly and done. No more detented valve.

Look at this PDF.

It is a Prince valve, but you will see the springs and balls that fit in a groove.

Just remove the spring and balls, and reattach the can and you will be with out detent.

Throw a small magnet in the bag to keep all the balls and springs together for later use.

I have a front snow plow and redirect the rear remotes to the front. I did mine and it is not hard to do. There are threads on here that document how to do it. And yes the search function leaves a lot to be desired.
