The plate on the cylinder reads: HYM-N2R-4x18 and 1E 7405-595-2B. How can I find the brand and the max PSI for it? The end plates are at least an inch thick and the tie bolts are 3/8.

If it has tie bolts it is most likley not rated for over 3000 psi that would be a bout maxium

Thanks, Dirthog. I did actuall measurements t'day and found the end caps are a full two inches and the tie bolts are 5/8". That may not make any diff, If I can use 3K PSI, that would work for me, too. This is on an old log splitter I 'inherited'. Everything on it is OLD! All controls and pump and such are Vickers or Vickers Sperry. Next need to dig up info on that pump. Thanks for the info.
