My BX2200 Hydraulic control lever will not return to neutral , this is a sporadic thing, I have lubed it and it still never worked like it should, So I had a small leak where the dealership had installed the hydraulic block for the lines to be added, I took it back to them and they solved the leak, but have tried to adjust the linkage(which I already knew about) Now they seem to think that it may very well be what they called a detent valve in the transmission.

Has anyone had this problem where a dealership can't get it adjusted to solve this problem?

They also told me Friday that this work would be covered under the drivetrain warranty.
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My bx 2200 does the same thing...I find that at 2000 rpm's it works very well however...maybe a detent thing but it may be just a bit of dirt/dust/grass/sand in the linkage.....

Sandy,
They have already ruled that out.
The Shop Foremen told me that if one did not return it to neutral manually when it did this that it would eventually burn the pump up!

So I decided if the warranty covers it then let them repair..better on their nickel than mine! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

well here is an update on this: The dealer says now thaT It is the valve for sure and Now they are telling me It is Not covered under the drivetrain warranty!
Here is an excerpt from the booklet
Included in the Powertrain Warranty

Driveline:4 wheel drive front axle assembly, and all gears, seals, bearing, etc. contained within, clutch housing(except clutchdisc),transmission case, and rear axle housing and everything contained within, and pumps and Valves associated with driveline operation.

I looked up the hydraulic control valve assembly and it alone is over $390.00. If Kubota will not stand behind it I will repair it myself.

Tomnky,

Is this the lever for the 3PH or the Loader control valve?

I assume it is the 3PH...

rear axle housing and everything contained within,

While it at first does not seem to be a "powertrain issue," where in fact is that valve located? Seems like if it is inside the rear axle housing, whether it should be covered could be debated though...then again, that would be dependent on who defines what the rear axle housing is...

Hope things work out for you.

Henro it is the lift lever. The Hydraulic Control Valve assembly bolt to the actual Housing but contains "associated valves. The three metal lines behind the left rear wheel attach to the block mounted on the Hydraulic Control Valve Assembly. And just for the Heck of it, The pump is also mounted to the Housing externally.

The Hydraulic control valve assembly also contains a priority valve which is directly in the transmission circuit. The wording of the warranty makes this tricky and can be interpreted several ways.

They tell me this morning it is something in the hydraulic control valve assembly , The service manager says it is a detent valve although the service manual doesn't show such a beast!

They are supposed to call Kubota today as I am going to do right here in a few minutes and see if I can talk to someone.

I was told this morning that if I had to pay for this it would run around $600.00 parts and labor. I won't be spending that much not for something that is apparently inherent to the BX'S.

I assume that the dealer first tried adjusting the the return mechanism for the 3-point lift lever, right? Iy may not be a problem in the valve but rather and adjustment problem.

I would be on Kubota's back about this. The tractor doesn't have many hours on it and if the valve has failed in less than 200 hours, that is a manufacturing defect. I believe that if you are polite, but firm, you can get them to do something, even if it is you paying the labor and them paying the parts. I personally would push for the whole job and settle for what they offer. I believe that Kubota is reputable and will work with you if they learn about the problem first hand. You must call them. It is also a lot easier if the dealer is pushing for you. Many times the dealer is the deciding factor. If this is the dealer that you purchased the tractor from, then he should be doing something to help. Might be time to go see the owner or salesman that sold the tractor. Get them involved. Just remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Paul,
the majority stockholder/owner will be back tomorrow and is the one I usually deal with but he has been gone for hospital tests . When I talked to the service manager yesterday afternoon , He said they (as in other owners and Him )had decided to Let the main fella handle this tomorrow and that He would be calling Kubota on this issue!

They told me that they would try to get it approved.

The tractor has 180 hours on it right now and was purchased from this Dealer (it was the second one I have bought from them).

And Believe me if I am told that they won't repair it I intend to be on the phone with Suwanee.

Right now I am in a hold pattern, trying to be as courteous as I can be given what has already transpired!
