I would assume that the slat lumber is about 4 inches wide and maybe an inch thick.If you want the sticks to be an inch and a half wide you would only need two blades.That would give you three sticks for every slat run through.My antique table saw has a one half horse capacitor start motor.If I were building such a critter,I'd use ten inch blades and a one and a half horse motor.
