In the manual that came with the Kubota BX snowblower, there is a page showing a hydraulic chute deflector. I was wondering if anyone has one of these mounted on their snowblower. According to Kubota, this chute deflector device was used on the B, F, & L snowblowers. The part number is BFL2518. Thanks......... Junk......

Junkman,

The hydraulic option was only available for the first year of the BX and even then I was told it was a Canadan option only /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I've only seen one and didn't get to use it. It did seem to be a nice option and worked with the joystick. I was never able to purchase one and ended up making my own electric version like what is currently offered. If you can get one it should work really well. You can still get parts for it. I believe it uses the same cylinder as the quick hitch. It would have cost about 4x as much to order all the parts to makeup the kit /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif but that is no suprise.

Later days,
Michael

I ordered the parts and they were under $50 for the brackets. I have ordered a cylinder from Prince for $65 and already have the hoses. I don't think that this is going to be a difficult install once everything is lined up. I will post pictures as soon as I have all the parts and the time to put it together. If anyone else is planning on doing this, I believe that there were 7 of one bracket and 13 of the other left in Kubota inventory. I doubt that they will make more once these are gone. I am also going to make a electric chute rotation device when I do the other work.

Gee, Junkman, that is what I'm trying to do in the 'Build it yourself' Forum, except with the blower for a 3010, not my wife's BX.

In the case of the blower I have, the deflector braket looks like it is just waiting for the adjusting rod to be replaced by a cylinder with ends being those 'U' shaped thingys. I can't find a cylinder thats an exact fit, but I think I've found 'close enough'

That is why I asked the question on that forum "What tractor is this for?". The cylinder that I found is a 1" x 6 at Surplus center. cylinder....
