Been noticing some drips on my trailer after hauling my CK20 and afew on the garage floor for awhile and have looked underneath to see where it maybe coming from but could never tell, just wet with a little drip on the hard line, nothing big. Well this afternoon after unhooking the mower, I saw a larger spot where the tractor had sat, then I put her in the garage, turned it off, as I got off I just happened to look down, WHAT the heck, that quick, a LARGE puddle was forming, looked under and was running down the right side of the case and from under the lower dash panel, removed same, looked at hyd. pump.....dry, hoses....dry! noticed it seemed to be coming from the back off steering box /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Ever try to get to the hoses on the steering box? Oh fun, just what I needed, two jobs to do this weekend! Well after looking, running, looking, knuckle busting, a few "colorful" words I found that the hose clamp on the return line on the back of the box was loose! Got'er tightend up (couple skinned knucles), wiped it clean, ran it fer awhile, no more leaks /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
So if you get one of these "mystery" leaks, check that steering return hose!

Vibration is a wonderful thing isn't it? Can happen to just about any spot on the tractor given enough seat time! I'm glad you had a simple (simple?) fix and didn't have to do without for a while!
Thanks for the heads up. John

Thanks for the tip. I last ran my CK20HST TLB about three weeks ago. Until then no leaks. I have 30 hours on it. Last week I saw two seperate puddles on the garage floor - hydraulic fluid I guess. The puddles are under the drivers seat about two feet apart. One leak seems to be from a hose connection (Upper hose at the connection where the threaded brass meets the grey tubing) off the backhoe unit right behind the drivers seat. But with two seperate puddle areas I think there must be two leaks. I take good care of this tractor and I am a little surprised it is leaking at all. I will check the area you have described. How tight should these "fittings" be?

In my case it wasn't the high pressure lines that were loose, it was the "return/low pressure" line that is held on with a hose clamp on the box, the clamp was really loose. I've had drips from the get go. When I'd look, there was "drips" on the hard line which looked like it was coming from the short section of hose connecting to the remote loader valve but no amont of tightening would solve it. I guess all along it was coming from the steering box. If you remove the lower panel you will see the box and relays, if the return hose is leaking, there will be hydralic oil below the box.
