Tractor
John Deere 5200
I recently purchased a 1996 John Deere 5200 tractor, it has a 3pt hitch but no hyd. I have talked with 3 different dealers and have received 3 different answers. One said it cannot be done, that John Deere no longer makes the valves I need, another gave me a list of parts totaling 5k the other gave me a list of parts totaling 3k, but totally different part numbers. I was wanting to have 2 mid mount scv for a loader, and a single out the back for an implement cylinder. There are no control valves under the tractor except for the 3 pt hitch. I would like to keep everything on the tractor JD if at all possible.

Have you considered trying to get the items you need from a tractor bone(salvage) yard????

Have tried a few bone yards in western Canada, no one seems to have this model. I wonder if not too many of these tractors made it to Canada. Do you know of any tractor salvage companies down south that I could contact?

May be possible to add a pto driven pump, which has a standard 6 spline pto output shaft for implements and then get your loader controls with a power beyond port... to use for the remote valves?? this has to be less than the prices you mentioned..

Before I spent 3-5K for hydraulics, I think I would look for a different tractor with the hydraulics already in place.
