HYD fluid shooting out of hydraulic motor

I have a handy dandy bucket with a hydraulically belt driven unloader. I use it for single handedly putting mulch around plants and bushes.

Anyway, I put it on the FEL and when I connected the hose all seemed fine until I tested the action. One direction it works great. WHen I try the other side it shoots HYD oil out the bottom. In the picture with the hoses it is on the underside. It's supposed to have a 7/8 hex cap that leads to an O ring and piston. That cap looks to be completely rusted away or sheared off. A like one is seen in about the 1 oclock position. That one looks good.

Question to anyone out in TBN land. You think its worth the energy to try and find something to finish getting the cap out and then replace the o-ring and cap with a new one? Or just replace the motor? I saw one on the Internet at $522 + tax/shipping .

I would try to work it out if it was mine, even taking it to hydraulic shop for rebuild would probably be cheaper than buying new....

Hmm. Hadn't thought of that. I will shop around for a hydraulic shop. Great idea!

Can you take a better picture showing where the leak is? That looks like a simple low speed high torque motor so curious if that motor has run down valve or cross port relief.

Thanks for the pics, I am not sure what those hex caps are but suspect relief valve so use caution if you try and remove them since if I correct they would be under spring load

Score a line down the side to maintain alignment for reassembly and take it apart. It’s usually just o rings. You should be able to order a seal kit for it.

Thanks. It is supposed to house a piston and O ring. I think I am going to tackle it once the rains stop in a few days.

You have a Parker Gerotor hydraulic motor.
Its best that you find a local

Parker hydraulic dealer to obtain a new geroter hydraulic motor as this
type of hydraulic motor is an over the shoulder and hit the scrap bin type
of motor that is designed to provide high torque for any application.

You need to have the correct O-rings for the old hoses for the new geroller
motor too as the old ones will leak.

So it's not repairable? If I only use the right side it seems to work without squirting fluid. I can limp along with that if needed. I would think that IF I can get the cap off that port I could repair the oring , piston and a new cap and be good to go.
