Have a YTH22v46 and wanting to get a bagger - mainly used for leaf cleanup in the fall. Looks like most have switched to mesh bags but like our old craftsman hard bins (it's a much older machine and not keeping it. And have read that a lot of people like the solid bins. Found a hard bin bagger on line but think it is not OEM. The bracket for the back of the frame from the Craftsman would fit the Husqvarna but the chute would have to be different. Any thoughts or recommendations?

The mesh bags will collect more and less clogging from the deck thru the chute. The trouble with mesh bags is cleaning them.

The hard shell bins are easy to clean.

wish we could have the best of both, but that's not practical.

Mesh bags also allow for an easier air flow. Baggers tend to have a mesh baffle up top, but it still makes a difference.

I don't use a bagger. I have a lawn sweeper I tow behind my mower. A pin attaches it to the mower and wheel motion rotates broom type blades to sweep leaves or grass into the sweeper. When full I drive it to the field, pull a rope, and empty it without ever leaving the seat. It does make an extra step when mowing but I needn't run the power sucking mower blades to sweep.

Pros and Cons to a sweeper too. When it starts to get filled and heavy, it leaves flatten grass behind and can leave ruts.

Long as the grass isn't too tall, the real solution is a mulcher setup.

My sweeper was the top of the line. I got tired of driving across the yard to the other side, bumping it and heading back over to the other side to keep cutting the 3 acres. So, I sold it.
