could not find the right place but figured I'd try here.

I unfortunately have a husqvarna garden tractor - innotek twin 24? horse and the pdf manual says use 30 or 5w -30 oil? all above 32 degrees. no mention of under. the dealer who was a joke said use 10w - 30. so like WTF????? i bought the 30 since that was mentioned but not sure if that will cause harm or if i need to go get 5w - 30 or even the 10w- 30.

comments and help most welcome. contacting husqvarna is a joke too by the way.

All are really fine for summer operation. 10W30 is typically what is used. SAE 30 offers some extra protection against heat in air cooled engines. If I were using it in winter, I would go with a 5W30 synthetic.

Think 10w30 is the old plain 30w, just relabeled.

5w30 or even 0w30 would be even better, all year round. I recently found 0w30 M1 ESP at Advance Auto. Ordered some for the 2025R.

I use Amsoil small engine oil, a tough full synthetic oil, and if you forget to service it on time it is safe for up to 200 hours. Not that I would do that, but nice to know. I will include the link below for you to check it out. See the various grades and decide which is appropriate for your application/weather. Open for example the 10w30 info, then specifications and then data info, and learn alot about oils. The 10w30 has a pour point of -40f and fire point of over 500f! See how many other oils could do that....very few. I get it shipped right to my door, and when there are promotions like free shipping, I get a case of it... Dutchy

I would put 10w 30 SYNTHETIC in it, I prefer Mobil 1 brand...

That's what I run in all of my air cooled gas engines, and I've never had any kind of oil related failure in even one of them.
