First thing to go was my trusty old Husqvarna 128L string trimmer. I was helping a neighbor clear out weeds and brush from an 8’ ditch. On my 9th gas fill-up Old Husq. wouldn’t restart. I figured I had flooded it, so I took it back to my workshop to blow it out and put in a new plug. No help. I pulled on it until my arm just about fell off.

After checking on You-Tube the problem seemed to always be the carburetor or the coil. Bought another carb from Amazing and put that on. No help. Check for solid spark – and ah HA! Bad coil.

Bought a new coil in some ‘you get everything’ deal from Amazing. Replaced the coil. No Joy. Checked the compression and sadly it was only 60psi after the required 10 pulls. With that, I figured it was junk; just way too many very hard hours beating on it I suppose.

So, I ordered a brand new Husqvarna 128LD; same as the L128 except it also has the detachable shaft to accept other accessories. Used it for a few hours until I was tired. Put it away with the intentions to finish up my work the next day.

Next day the L128LD would not start. Just to be sure, I dumped all the old gas and put in new genuine Husqvarna gas with 50:1 blend. Trimmer fired right up, but was running at intermediate speed. Hmmm – maybe I fouled the new spark plug. Pulled the plug wire – and the end came off in my hand! Naturally, the plug wire comes molded into the coil. So a complete disassembly was required just to replace the broken plug wire. I did save a couple of bucks though by using the new coil off of my old 128L trimmer. Only cost there was a couple of hours of my time.

With that second disaster, I put away the trimmer and got out my GTH26V52LS mower to knock down some 2’ high saw-grass. Just as I finished the mower blades shut down. My best guess is that the blade clutch went out. What the H*LL!

With that 3rd Husqvarna tool breaking down on me this week, I put the mower back in the shed. Enough is enough!

Just to be safe, I set my Husqvarna baseball cap aside, being afraid my head would just fall off.

From here, that's a funny story.....but not from where you are working. Nice of you to share anyway. Makes some of us relate to similar days.

cheers,
Mike
