I have a 2005 2448, I put a brand new engine on it last year as the old one wore out. The only "bolt on" alternative was a up grade in HP to a 27 HP. it's been working great until recently it Boggs down win engaging the PTO. the belt isn't completely bad, and the clutch is working, any idea's?

If its bogging down check to make sure your fuel is good, make sure the filter isn't clogged. Also make sure the headlight wire isn't melting and shorting on the muffler causing a short. I have the same tractor with a similar issue and it turned out to be the short. It could also be a carb issue-try using a little sea foam in the tank.

It sounds good until you put it under load and then it bogs down. You can also check to make sure the blades aren't seized by releasing the belt lever and making sure they each turn freely.

I would look to a clogged air filter.
