Husky 550 XP issues

I have a 550XP that's developed an issue that makes it completely unusable/unreliable. It will start without a hiccup, but the next time, I can pull the cord 100x and it never starts. I've always followed the pictogram and it's not an issue of a hot start or cold start, it's not reliable either way. It can start one time, and then never start another time. Is it an electrical issue? Anyone else run into this with any of the Husky XP series?

Are you saying it hasn't got any spark after you run it some?

I have a 435 and it acted like yours. Took it to a saw mechanic as it was under warranty and he changed the spark plug. Issue resolved.

I had a similar issue with my Jonsy 2171. New plug fixed it.

I agree, start cheap, new plug. I had the same thing happen on a Stihl and it was the plug.

The brain trust of TBN never ceases to amaze me. I'll try a new plug.

Are you restarting it hot or cold when it has the issue? Agree with the others, check the plug. Next would be run a good dose of seafoam through it incase there's something in the jet.

Why wouldn't you see if it even has spark when won't re-start, first? How do you get any cheaper than that?

At least then, you would know what step to take next.
