Followed suggestion in previous post and ordered D starter handle and received this am. Replaced cord and was oh so careful about not letting starter spring unwind. Ran new cord up thru D handle and knotted. Second pull and knot pulled thru new handle. Fortunately did not unwind spring. Rethreaded with a small washer in handle (cord hole in handle is large)to not let knot slip back thru handle. Saw hadn’t been started in at least 2 years with same old gas. Sucker started on second pull!

Cool. Pic of the one you said you got that was oregon brand?

I keep picturing the one with squared edges that can bite ya. If so be careful. Those have broken here before too.
Those are ones I pull off saws if come in on one and give away to a friend that uses them. I like the stihl ones for roundness etc.
