The oil hole may be only partially blocked. Oil will spray between cuts but due to the reduced flow, not enough oil overall. Same situation that I had on the new Dolmar. Would oil between cuts but chain would sieze to bar and would get hot enough to remove the bar paint on large cuts and oil hole would plug up from the fine pieces of sawdust.
The oil holes that I have found were off between .070-.140 inch too high, blocking the top half of the oil hole.
