Ok, so I'm not totally useless. 
You guys have really helped me out by letting me know what parts to use. I picked up the stuff today and it went together in a snap. I put a flow control on as well and I can really control the ram speed well.
At first I thought the hoses were a bit long (3') but because of the space limitations they worked out well. I could use a shorter hose if I pick up so 90 degree fittings to come off the cylinder with.
All in all, I'm pretty happy.
