HPX Gas Cold Start

Has anyone had success in working Gator HPX (gas) cold start problem. Mne has been cold natured since new and is now worse than ever after dealer worked carburator.

Dealer also did recall on master cylinder which left me with about one third pedal and half the brakes as before! He plans to work the brakes next week. I was hoping someone might have hit a key on the cold start issue that I could point the dealer toward!

My HPX is a little on the "cold blooded" side also. Sounds like you have a worse situation than mine. We recently had some single digit temps so I wanted to see how it would respond. Took about four attempts with full choke and a couple minutes of rough idle but after that it was fine. Even in warmer weather it takes two or three attempts to get it going.

One thing you could try is to find if the elevation you live in has anything to with your cold start problem. If so you may need to look into high elevation jets for your carb. Most of the cold start with HPX has been typical like anyother carb motor just keep it reved for a minute or two, It should help.

Dealer picked up the gator and did some carburator adjustments. He also suggested about half throttle (with the choke) on cold start. That seems to help a lot.
