HPX 4X4 locking 4wd on it's own....

mine is supose to be engaged at just above idle speed . infact it come out of 4x4 easier if you bump the gas pedal a bit while disengaging it.

I don't have clue what this unit looks like, but if it is a problem with it becoming magnetized, most metal working shops that do any grinding will have a demag unit that will take that magnetism out.

i know when we used to have to weld on magnetized pipe the way we would demagnetize it would be to wrape the welding lead around it a few times while the machine was on and that would usually take care of it. did you check to see if the switch is closing all the way? try it with the wires fully disconnected or the battery disconnected and see what you get or did you try that?

You can leave it unplugged and it does the same thing.

try takin the plate out and if you have a welding machine wrape the lead around it atleast 5 or six times and leave the machine on for a while infact if you can try welding on something else while you have the lead wraped around the plate the more amps the better. just cover the plate up so you don't get any b'b's on it plus you can spray it down with pam cooking spray to keep the b'b's off.
