But you would also want a drawbar hp rating as well for ground engaging implements.

I have an 8N (slightly tired) & didn't want to over work it so we got a 4' bush hog a few years back. I don't really use it for clearing, mostly field & trail mowing & it's done fine.

We just got a new L3400 & wanted to move to a 5' mower but now I'm wondering if the Kubota would handle a 6' on the light mowing fields. We had planned to sell the 4' to pay for the 6' but maybe it's worth keeping the 4' for the old Ford & for any more gnarly stuff with the bigger tractor.

Anyone run a 6' on an L3400?

At 29 pto hp.. you'd be ok for light material on the 6'er.. and could cut anything you wanted with a 5'er.

given that you have a 4' for the 8n.. I'd get the 6' for the kubota. you can always make a 5' cut with a 6' mower by closing 1 eye and driving funny.
