How\'s this price for a 790?

I'm ready to buy a JD 790 with loader. It's 4wd, standard transmission, power steering. Also a 300 series loader.

Price is $14.500. How does this sound? That includes EVERYTHING. Nothing more for taxes, delivery, etc.

Thanks. I need to know if this sounds ok.

Prices are somewhat dependent upon location...but the price you mentioned sounds pretty good to me.

I think the 790 will be a good fit for your 10 acres. I'm assuming you have operated tractors before?

Depending on the amount of loader work you expect to do, that 300 loader should do fine. If you're planning on moving bales of hay, it may not be enough, however. Then, you might be better off with a 43xx series Deere. Physically, the 4300 (or 4310) is close to the same size as the 790. It does have quite a bit more hydraulic power, however. The 4300 is also quite a bit heavier then the 790...by around 700 pounds.

Back again. Yes, I grew up on this very farm and did everything 'cept plant and cultivate. My dad was too much of a perfectionist to let anyone else do that! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif We just have 3 horses and won't be hauling anything much but manure (ground driven spreader), scraping up the lots, dragging the pastures, hauling some sand and pea gravel here and there, and getting rid of this big pile of black dirt left from digging our basement. Might push some snow too. I'm confident the 790 will do any job we have, but I don't want to be 'taken advantage of' in terms of price. I've requested quotes from 2 other dealers in the area, so that might help too. Thanks again!

Your in the ball park on price, and as Roy said deponding on location price will differ.

I paid $14,100 for my package in Florida about 2 years ago and it 's a great little tractor for a small horse operation. See if you can get them to "throw" a mower in on the package.
