Looking to get a used bulldozer to clear off some land I am going to acquire that was clear cut. Hopefully I can find out on the forum if this is feasible and if I should do this or if I am getting a money pit

Welcome, always good to have another Georgian on the forum. What part of the state are you in? Keep in mind it takes a BIG dozer to get pine stumps cut close to the ground.

Mark V is absolutely right....you will need a very big dozer to take out Pines stumps cut close to the ground...

I bought a JD 450 C track loader years ago to clean up stumps after I sold a lot of Pine to a pulp wood company. It was a lot of work..each stump had to be dug out with the loader...forget pushing them out...I am not even sure if a D8 would push out a big pine stump...they have one heck of a tap root

My father in law was retired at the time and he worked 8 hrs. a day for weeks and weeks getting all the stumps dug out and burned.

I ended up selling the JD 450 for what I had in it after we had finished but the only reason I was able to recoup my investment was ....I was lucky and had a neighbor who was a bulldozer mechanic and he did all the repairs real cheap in return for favors I had done for him..Had I been forced to pay going rates for the repairs to the track, clutches etc. there is no way I would have come out even...I can be a money pit unless you can do the mechanic work..or have a friend that can do so.
