I have an "E" mounted Series 2 Howard Rotovator Selectilth in need of replacement slip clutch springs or possibly new clutch (not looking into this idea unless last resort). Need 6 new or near new clutch springs. Can't find many places here in Oregon for parts. Tiller is 50+ years old and DOES NOT get run much but I try to store it under cover. Owners manual says Essex, England was manufacturer. Not looking to spend high dollar for parts. Anyone have ideas? Springs are 1.21" long x 1.21" wide. .30" gauge of steel rod. .57" ID. And are a strong compression spring. Can shorten if longer ones found. Anyone use lighter springs in place of stock ones?

I suggest you find some close replacements, originals WILL break the bank!!

Next time my Howard needs the clutch rebuilt, I'm converting it to a Woods clutch!!

Anyway, You can get many Howard parts from Deur Implement,

Howard Rotavator

Can you get springs for another slip clutch?

Welcome to TBN
I'm curious what's wrong with old springs? Collapsed maybe from heat? I would think type or length of springs wouldn't be that critical if bolts have sufficient amount of threads to allow correct adjustment of clutch.
