Last weekend somebody ripped off a fence energizer, battery and solar panel at my place. To top it off, they stole nearly all the top-hitch pins from my stored-outside attachments. It's likely only a $200 to $300 loss in total, but I get pretty worked up about it. I'm now trying to decide on whether to invest first in more gates or hidden, motion-activated cameras.
Although I realize the inadvisability of the approach, at times like this, I really sympathize with the booby trap sentiment!

The cameras are good. Just make sure they are day/ night cameras w/ infrared illuminated that switch to b&w at night. The OPTEX Wireless 2000 sensors will alert you if movement detected too. They work great with exceptional range, but animals will also set them off. If using a dvr, get one with at least 1 terabyte storage. If you think you need 8 cameras, get a 16 channel
