Kubota BX2200
My dealer picked up my BX2200 6 weeks ago to do some warranty work that was needed. The front steering cylinder was slipping, there was a small leak on one oil line and the fuel gage went wacky. Per the dealers suggestion, I waited until my warranty was almost expired to have everything done. I've kept in contact with the dealer and have not been concerned about the length of time it's taken for repairs. Last time we spoke I was told the fuel sender was on backorder and I could wait or have my tractor delivered back home and fix the fuel gage later. Even tho I'm tired of driving past the dealer and seeing my Bota sitting out in the rain I decided to wait for the backordered part. Last Friday while driving by I noticed my tactor was not in it's usual parking spot so I stopped to see if maybe it was done. I walked into the shop and there sits my Bota with a brand new 50" tiller hooked up to the three point. I ask the mechanic if that's a free tiller on the back of my BX2200? He said they needed to use my tractor so they could cut the PTO shaft to the correct length for another customer. I remarked the tiller was a little big for my BX and I would prefer he forget the fuel gage and get my tractor home. This was on Friday, Saturday morning I get a call.....The Fed-X guy just brought your fuel sender, we'll have it done and home on Monday. I'm not feeling real positive about my dealer right now. How would you feel and would this bother you?

I don't think I would be bothered by the dealer hooking a attachment to my tractor to ensure the PTO shaft gets cut to the correct length, even when it's for another customer. I would like to be assured that was all that occurred & my tractor wasn't sent out for a demo. I WOULD be upset with a 6 week delay in obtaining a replacement part. I would've preferred to see them get the part through any means possible, if that meant through another dealer, and get the tractor home where it belongs.

I'm sure they would do the same for me? Say I needed to stop by and borrow some of their equipment needed to finish a job at home..... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I don't believe they did any work with your tractor.

I wouldn't have gotten upset over them using my tractor as a measuring tool. No harm no foul.

I believe they could not have finished THEIR WORK without my tractor. THEIR work was measuring and cutting a shaft for another customer using my tractor to do that. Like I said, i'm sure they'll do the same for me next time I need some of their equipment to finish my projects correctly. And would they cover warrenty repairs caused my ME attaching a piece of equipment which is much large then recommended? I'm thinking no...I think this was real unprofessional on the dealers part.

Man, this can get touchy for me.

IMHO, if this were MY tractor, six weeks for a part is a little shall we say outrageous. MY tractor does not sit outside. So
weather beating down on MY tractor sort of is MY hot button.

I would like to have been told about the hookup of a part to MY tractor, seeing how everytime you turn the key and go somewhere it could be an accident waiting to happen.

I guess this is all part of the dealer customer relationship and part of the communication process.

YMMV

Well it's home....delivery guy just left. I feel better already. The part about sitting out in the rain bothered me also but I kept telling myself it was sitting outside when I bought it so what's six more week's going to do. (I made it rust everyplace I had chipped paint off, that's what it will do). The delivery guy said he was very sorry I walked into the shop on Friday. He said I wasn't suppost to see what I saw. I guess sales wins over service. The sales guy didn't want to use their brand new BX so service was told to use mine. The delivery guy handed me a bill and guess what, there's a charge on my bill for "misshopsupplies $3.38". Seems they charge for small things like shop towels and cleaning supplies. I'm just glad it's home...

I guess my Kubota with 8000 hours on it that has never been under cover or washed (other than by the rain) really feels neglected /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If they were to USE the tiller which requires more PTO HP than your tractor has, I would have gotten upset. But just attaching it for making measurements should not have hurt anything. You sure seem worked up over this -- but as your Post asks, "How would YOU feel?" -- and I am just being honest with how I would feel on this matter.

This adds a new element to the situation. There was a tractor on the lot that could have been used instead of a customers machine. Knowing that, I would speak to the owner before patronizing this dealer again. I would also discuss the 6 week delay in obtaining your part. It would think a dealer somewhere might have had it in stock, instead of waiting for Kubota to fill the backorder (if that really is the case). Do dealers work together in situations like this or is it every man for himself?
