Rbargeron hit the nail on the head as far as my problem is concerned. I have no traction problems at all with rotary cutter on the machine, because half of the weight of the cutter is on the tractor. The problem with the finish mower is that I'm pulling a lot of weight, but none of it is resting on the tractor.
I can't see any way my tractor would be able to pull the 72 RFM on my slopes without loading the tires. I thought adding 240 lbs of wheel weights would solve the problem, and it did help a little, but not enough to keep me from having to shift in and out of 4WD constantly.
I have also tried running with the loader frame on, which would distribute at least a little weight towards the rear end, but that really didn't help either.
I'm hoping that a belly mower will be enough weight to help me keep traction. If not, I may have to load the tires as a last resort. I wish there was some other way to add weight to the rear end of the tractor when there is something on the three-point. Like maybe some kind of steel plates that could be stacked and hung underneath the frame or something like that.
