Heres a photo of how I / we spent our Lunar Eclipse.

I could lie and say it was planned this way, but I won't. It was simple honest good fortune.
My sister came home from Las Vegas for a visit, so we decided it would be a good time to have a gathering at my house enjoy a bonfire and eat some good food with family and friends.
Having the eclipse fall on the same night was a bonus.
I had one of the better, local reseraunts prepare some food for the event,
Mike & Doreen Holden (owners) of Dillingers Resteraunt in Moultonborugh, NH did an outstanding job. I ordered 25lbs. of boneless prime rib, a 15lb. turkey with stuffing & gravy and roasted red potatoes for 20 people. I had my friend and kayaking buddy make up an awesome seafood chowder with lobster, crab, bay scallops, salmon, swordfish and haddock. Along with the various baked beans and apple crisps we had a feast fit for a king.
What a great night and then to have the benefit of the eclipse. Well What can I say. Perfect !!!!!!!!

Wow! Mark, it sounds like you had enough food for 40 people instead of just 20. Only one thing missing...marshmallows. With a bonfire like that you gotta have roasted marshmallows. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We did have the marshmellos, only problem was. By the time you could get near enough to the fire to roast them, everybody was already stuffed with all the other food.
The brush / debris pile was huge, I have been building it since around April when I burnt the last one. It went up hot and fast. I had flames up in the 50' / 60' range. I am always amazed at the intense BTU's thrown by a fire like that. If I could only bottle it, it would heat my house all winter.
Local fire department showed up once. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif they apparently had reports of a big glow and some people could see the flames from the main road. So they had to check, which is just fine by me. Theres nothing wrong with being cautious.
The fire dept. member who came to the house, was a man I know, he saw that it was me, that all was ok, asked if I had a permit, (I do), we chatted for a few minutes, I tried to offer him some food, he couldn't stay, he slapped me on the back, said have a great time and left.
In all, it was a great evening, cold but still great.
And yes. I ordered to much food. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

How did we spend our eclispe...?

We planned a family get together for my 10 year old grand daughters birthday. 18 people all together.
Everything was going well, until everytime I looked at the front door there were a few more young girls. They were multiplying.....first there were 2 little girls, then 4, then 8. Unknown to Grandpa......she invited her whole cheerleading squad over for the party /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
We ended up with 35 people here...IN THE HOUSE. 18 of them being 7-12 year old squeeling, giggling and absolutely beautiful little girls.
We had a ball. Only got outside to check on the eclipse 3 or 4 times. Thankfully, the cupboards were fully stocked and everyone was well-fed, even though Grandpa&Grandma were surprised and the dog was in heaven......35 people to play with me /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
