I have read several threads via searching about adding 12 volt plugs. Alot of them talk about the location. I need to know if the bundle of wires behind the seat can be used to make this easy. I know where I want to locate it so that is not my issue.

Basically, what is the easiest way to wire in a 12 volt marine grade plug? Locating it under FEL joystick by right heel area. This will be used to a power a Fimco sprayer.

Please help as my yard is out of control!!!!

I would go off the ignition switch( accessory post) so it will shut off with ignition key, or directly off the battery with a fuse & shut off switch.

The bundle of wires behind the seat are for work lights.
I have always done a Johnny said. Hook up to the battery. I put in fuse & a switch on the dash to control power to the plug.

Your 2520 doesn't already have one? Or do you need to add another?
Then again, not sure, but maybe all years didn't have one.

I can what Johnny g suggested. Is there a recommended switch and fuse setup to use for something like this?

glc24, for some reason my 2520 doesn't have one. A buddy of mine with a 2520 does have a 12 volt under his right leg, right heel area. Must have been certain years. It seems standard equipment these days I would think but John Deere must not think like me!! HA

Probe the ignition switch with a volt ohm meter for a hot wire with the switch on. Preferably a blank space not in use. Run a wire from that to a three prong relay. Run a ground wire from the ground prong on the relay to a good ground on the tractor. Run a wire to one side of a fuse holder. Run a wire from the other side of the fuse holder to the location you want the twelve volt plug. You may also want to incorporate a toggle switch into the circuit also. This would allow you to turn the sprayer off and on when being used to insure only the area you want sprayed are sprayed.

In a circuit as described the relay will absorb the heat generated in the circuit, protecting your ignition switch. The fuse will also protect the pump motor and the switch from damage.

Good luck.
