You can adjust the fuel rack travel to add more fuel or like was mentioned adjust the governor to come in sooner and if done with moderation will operate just fine. The one caution I would add is that you add an exhaust temperature gauge and (if it were me) not sustain over 1200*, the most important thing for reliable operation is to monitor your gauges.
