How to split wood, the easy way

I got my X27 yesterday, only had one piece of 12" walnut on hand, split it well. I'll be bringing more wood home tomorrow that will need splitting! ~~ grnspot

Whenever i get a piece of wood without knots i use my hyd log splitter to make a batch of kindling with it. Doesn't take any time at all to make a nice pile of kindling that way. I'm too lazy to swing an ax :laughing:

Cutting edge angles on a lot of splitting hammers are not right, took me awhile to figure that out, but after I did, I started changing some on a grinder to match one that really worked good:thumbsup::confused2:

Third this. :thumbsup: There has been one type of wood so far that has refused to split and that is some decent sized elm that was standing dry/dead but these are the large pieces closest to the ground and are still a bit wet. I also find the X27 very light and easy to handle compared to my other maul.
