How to smooth a field with trees

Just disk it up well and smooth out with all the good suggestions given. Don't worry about the grass. THAT will grow back fast enough.
You'll just be fooling around for a long time trying to smooth out a little here a little there. You have no tree roots to hurt at this early stage.
Do it right the first time and your done. Then you'll be able to enjoy the mowing with out getting beat up!

I'm with HarryN. Just get it smoothed out the best you can and that grass will grow back soon enough.
