Anyone know how to make a poison station that will only work with youtes?
I'll have to check if it legal of course.

Absolutely, live trap them and administer a lethal injection but only to the animals you want to destroy.

Lethal lead injection maybe? Has anyone tried live trapping a coyote? I'd think it would be near impossible and only once per group.
I did once randomly have one in a live hog trap.

With the decimation of wolves in some parts of the north US and Canada an alliance has sprung up. Wolves and coyotes are mating. The resulting coy-wolf is bigger stronger and more aggressive than the coyote. Mess with nature and she messes back. Be careful what you wish for.

Yep kidr, we are pretty good at destroying things that seem to manage themselves with time, after all, we are invading their space.
Having said that, management is a necessity this day & time, deer, turkey & yotes are more prevalent in these part's than ever before, sometimes i have to question management practices that are put forth by the Wildlife officials.

One of the great mysteries is why the wolf population is declining when their food source is increasing. I've read several biologist theorize that it's part of evolution and their time on earth is nearing it's end. Why did the saber tooth tiger disappear? While we have absolute proof that humans have destroyed some species to extinction, we are not to blame for everything.

^^^^^^ Another reason why I don't like shooting animals for fun. What is the fun part of watching an animal suffer?

For fun? Watch it suffer? Anyone you know who does these things, needs committed...

For food or as a protection necessity only. Kill shots only. If you don't "turn their lights out" immediately with the first shot, you are a failure. You did not wait for the PROPER shot and you did not arrive with the proper skills.

Right on Sysop. 'yotes might need killin', but only when they NEED killin'. Which, around here is about all the time. Not native in this area, but they've taken up residence real good. Hunting should be about 98% practice, scouting, then maybe a good kill for food or get shed of problem coyotes.

How many people "wait for the proper shot and have the proper skills" when shooting coyotes, for instance? I understand nuisance animals, putting food on the table, etc. But I hear all the time about using coyotes for target practice or teaching kids to shoot by going after coyotes. Proper shot? Hardly. Most folks that shoot coyotes, that I've encountered, just consider them vermin and don't care at all about the consequences or value the animal in any way. Even on this site I've read proud stories of shooting animals, on vacation, in other lands, just for fun. Just asking, why is that fun?
We have a lot of wild horses around here, see them all the time. If anyone started shooting them for sport all h*ll would break loose, and they are a huge nuisance. Dogs are OK, but only wild dogs. Shoot a tiger and there is an international uproar.

Of course Raspy saved a young coyote and has pretty strong feeling towards them. I agree with his idea, why shoot them just for the sake of it. I admit I've shot a couple but we have also lost pets to them, or so we assume. Like someone else said earlier, its probably easier just to put the pets up at night. Ground hogs and skunks fall in the same catetegory, pretty much just shoot them on site. Once again, is this the correct attitude? I can't say whats right or wrong, its up to each person to decide.
