How to rid Coyote's

I have seen coyotes near the road in rural PA several times while out for a walk. They seem totally disinterested in me. They run about sniffing the ground, I presume looking for mice, and never notice as I pass by. Its a little scary but again they haven't been aggressive or intimidated. Had I wanted to, I could dispatched them forthwith.

We were at the Boliver Ferry waiting in a line of traffic to load onto the ferry last summer. There was a trash can overfilled and coyotes were coming up to the trash can calmly rummaging and picking up what they wanted and walking off with it. They had no fear of anyone in the line of cars 20 feet away.

And as for your scent being carried away when you are in a tree stand, that all depends on the weather. I know many a hunter who has watched deer walk calmly past a tree stand and then jolt into a freeze as they caught their scent. It can be carried quite a ways on the level and then pushed down by a breeze or a patch of heavier cool air.

True. I have had deer walk directly under my stand on very cold calm days. My body heat probably carried the scent up and away. They heard me move but never figured out where I was.
On the ground with the wind in my face they have walked within 20 ft of me and not notice.

But back to coyotes, shoot at them every chance you get to get them to fear you.

We have coyotes, but have no reason to bother with them. They keep the other critters in check.

They are very hard on our young deer & turkey's. Anyone know how to make a poison station that will only work with youtes?
I'll have to check if it legal of course.

Don't know if they can be safe. Anything that eats the coyote will get the poison as well. Same with rats and mice.
