How to remove PTO shaft from slip clutch on rotary cutter?

I have a 5 ft Befco rotary cutter that came with my first tractor. Never used it and it has sat for the last 3 years. Went to hook it up and PTO shaft is pretty much rusted together. Will not compress or extend so wanted to add a new one. Was trying to get the old one off and no luck.

Removed the bolt where my finger is but no movement even after spraying down with fluid film

Even if I got it to move, it looks like there is a bevel which would prevent the shaft from being pulled off (pictured here)

The manual wasn't much help as there wasn't a section covering PTO shaft removal

That looks like a spring clip or ring, to hold the coupler on the shaft in case the bolt shears or falls out. You might have to push the coupler onto the shaft a little, then remove ring/clip, then pull shaft off.

Pull the shaft apart & clean it up & use it.

Chain the cutter to a tree or something solid & pull with tractor or truck.

Not long enough at current stuck length to connect to tractor PTO. Guess I could connect it to a clevis on the drawbar

Yep, that looks to me like it has a spring clip in there. You'll have to pick that out before it will budge, I think.

Thanks. Going to let the fluid film sit overnight then take a small sledge to it to try and break it free so I can move it forward and pull out the clip

On a related note I never realized how expensive PTO shafts are. Weasler 42 in shaft is $300 at Tractor Supply

The PTO shaft on my flail mower was seized. I tried brute force (lifting it up with the loader) - no go. Then I tried a gentler approach. I sprayed the heck out of it with PB Blaster (Rubber banded a baggie to it so it could soak). Then I chained one end to a tree, and the other end to a come a long. Did Tap, Tap Tap with a hammer, and if it flew apart.

Repeat if necessary.

Did some searching and found new PTO shaft with new slip clutch for $160. This should work perfectly right?
