Hi guys,

I need to remove the FEL to gain good access to engine and (hopefully) fix this machine after 12 months being out of action (no fuel delivery).

Currently the bucket is some 8 inches from the ground and takes forever to lower by itself.
Hydraulics and attachment pins are removed.

Photo shows the current situation. I cannot push the FEL upwards where it rests on the mountings unless I jack up the bucket a little, taking the pressure of the mountings. However I am unable to lift it over the hump and at the same time move it forward (to separate it from the tractor).

Ideas anyone?

I’d probably pull the pins out of the loader arm, cylinder and leveling arm and then pull the brackets separate. I think it’ll be nearly impossible to get it off the way it’s intended without hydraulics or a second piece of equipment.

I would entertain the idea of making a temporary a-frame out of lumber to go up and over the rear of the loader. Then use a chainhoist to lift the loader to clear the tractor.

I had to do it once about 4 years ago. I can't remember the details and I am sure it would be different with you model.

Basically I put a lot of weight in the bucket to keep it from falling back.
Got a high lift jack to lift close to the attachment points.
I remember something about using a strap and a truck to pull from the front.

Sorry I can't tell you more but I do remember that I was glad I put all the weight in the bucket.

You will need a loader or hoist to remove it.

I’ve used a 12V hydraulic pump (like on a dump trailer) to control cylinders when I had to raise a heavy no till drill to put in transport mode when my tractor was not on site. I just temporarily spliced in the 12V pump with the proper fittings and used it to control the cylinder. Borrow someone’s dump trailer and get a few long hydraulic lines, and you wouldn’t even have to remove the pump.

Can you put it in float and then jack it up? :confused3:

Park another tractor next to it and hook up the hoses at the disconnects. Fuel the tractor from another source (if it's not the injector pump) and start it long enough to pull off the loader. Rent an air powered hydraulic supply and plumb it in.

I think I would start by trying some form of overhead hoist. naplen - #3 or messmaker - #5.
